Unfortunately there is no Gold Track in India - *A hasn’t been able to impress on the Indian airports. There are some places where they have a J/F lane for check-in pax but no where in Transit Security in India though - probably a mix of poor planning, lack of demand etc.
They have security checks for transit pax because each destination country would have their own security requirements and certain well designed (newer) airports manage this more efficiently/better. Eg: US considers pax flying from EU/SIN and a few other countries to be “clean” at the source. So a pax traveling FRA-IST-JFK would not have to go through transit security. However traveling from DEL-IST-JFK would have to go through transit security to meet US security guidelines. Since DEL/BOM cannot segregate pax based on origin & destination all pax must undergo security checks.
