The only seat pairs where you could sit beside each other without having either of you stepping over or being stepped over are the aisle pairs at the front of each cabin. eg: 6B/D 6F/J or 10 B/D 10F/J. If sitting in an "exposed" aisle seat doesn't bother you this would fit your criteria.
7AB or JK; or 13AB or JK are the best seat pairs you could get beside each other: the aisle passenger will be stepped over by the window passenger in the row ahead, but the window passenger in your party will not have to step over anyone.
