3 UK does have a 12GB 365day expiry option (data only, no voice), covers australia as well as a few other countries
Ive used Ais Sim2Fly in australia too(4GB 8 days USD$10 refillable online, calls are chargable outside of data allowance. i have enough balance on google hangouts and find the mobile data latency enough if i had to call). similar to 3 UK where this covers (more) countries
may be useful if you have multiple trips to different countries
