We stayed in an overwater bungalow in the 60s, on the opposite side of the property and we didn't have much issue with the construction. On one of the days, there was a worker scrubbing under our deck... this was a slight nuisance since we couldn't go in the water for 1.5 hrs but nothing major. The work seems to start around 08:00 daily and I wasn't keeping track but seemed to complete by around 17:00 or 18:00. To help with the noise, the resort offered a complimentary boat to a nearby islet for snorkeling for a couple hours. We took the boat over at 10:30 and it returned around 12:30. It was a nice option and a nice gesture by the resort. Ask at the pool desk if they plan to continue offering this.
They took 5,000 xpf off our bill per day for restaurant expenses at checkout. Based on the inconveniences we experienced, this felt reasonable. One thing to note is that several guests seemed to try requesting early check-in or late check-out, and from what I overheard during my times in the lobby, these requests weren't being granted due to capacity. With the construction and other units likely getting prepped for upgrades, there likely isn't enough inventory to expect upgrades or extra time in your bungalow.
The hotel doesn’t do early or late checkout simply because they’re French. It’s a policy rather than capacity thing - the place can be full of people sitting around from the early boat and the hotel will happily sit there with empty rooms until the afternoon.
