Maybe "married segment" isn't the correct technical term to use here but it gets my point across that the display is a result of both legs being shown together and the availability across both of them.
The segments are not "married"; if they were, you could not upgrade only one of them.
It's the display - either a "feature" or an "error" depending on your perspective.
