A little secret guys, this movement was probably the most successful in the industry and not only changed some things at Delta, but put us on the map. I challenge any of you if the chance arises to ask any of the top 50 or so executives at DL about SSM, while many did not follow it daily, you will find that all are familiar with it and that at least one very important report/study was written and circulated.

Folks, I don't see why we are all in a rush to disband SSM. hfly is totally correct in stating that this is only Round 2. IMHO we should play a waiting game and see what develops at DL. We should look at these funds that Bruce is holding on our behalf as a long term insurance policy. The purpose of SSM was to protect our rights and the benefits that we have earned after many long hours showing our loyalty to DL by sitting in their often times uncomfortable seats.

PS, as a side bar, Bruce once received a request from a DL corporate contact for SSM buttons because Leo wanted to see what SSM was all about. SSM buttons were circulated among many top level DL executives at a meeting. SSM did have an impact on DL and helped rid us of Rob Borden and his misguided approach to a frequent flyer program. Rob simply didn't understand what loyalty is all about. In simpler terms, he drove away customers instead of enticing them to spend more money.
