Probably intentional. They have no incentive to serve anything halfway decent from AMS. On the contrary, the worse the food, the more pax may be convinced of the value of spending a fortune on a rutabaga or cauliflower (admittedly served with a sprinkling of faux Michelin glamour) in Blue before departure.
