Rosewoods are highly variable. Las Ventanas in Cabo is superlative. The new Montecito/Santa Barbara resort appeals to me in the least because the architecture and design has no respect for its location. Nevertheless it seems, thus far successful in bookings. Rosewood Cordevalle, a golf resort southwest of San Jose, CA, is a disaster ... unless you golf and are not picky regarding accommodations or cuisine.
