It's a messy world. I left my phone on a table in the lounge. Contacted TK, the airport Lost & Found: nothing.
An Istanbul friend volunteered to trudge out to the airport, where he immediately identified my lonely phone in the L&F, retrieved it with no problem and sent it to me.
He's Syrian with faltering Turkish, so the ease of retrieval puzzled me in the same measure it pleased me.
The only hiccup was that DHL dogged me for months for payment of UK duty - though HMRC confirmed duty wasn't chargeable and in fact hadn't been charged.
This was at the old airport. I'm sure the systems in place at the new one are much more streamlined .....
