for next August, only 60 k more are required here on a 7 nights stay than at Sheraton (actually the Sheraton charge 50 k x night as peak season while the Westin charge 60 k x night as regular season)
but there is big difference on “basic” room booked by points
-at the Westin is a beach Villa with private pool
-at the Sheraton is just a room in the main building
so, basically, no SNA need to be applied
I haven't been to either of these properties but researched both extensively prior to planning my trip to the Maldives. Based on my research the Sheraton Maldives didn't even make it onto the list, period, end of sentence. The Westin would have tentatively been a consideration if I was concerned with my budget and/or wouldn't have enough points. However, since this is our very first trip and budget nor points are of concern, we are going with a higher end resort, probably JW (STR is still in the running but we're leaning towards JW).
