if they really wanted to get people to the gates quickly they would install some moving walkways. but that would whisk them past the shops as well and so that will not happen. even in the latest extension in the non-schengen part of the terminal the moving walkways cover only a small part of the new wing. People must walk past as many shops as possible!!
They have even changed the signs to divert you an extra distance if going to gates 50-55 when there is an obviously quicker route (the old way before that new atrium).
