The stay was just OK.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Opera suite, was upgraded to Couture apartment for the second night after asking for it.

How are the rooms?
Spacious and stylish yet a little worn. Both had walk-in rain shower, two toilets, and even own hammam. The opera suite came with bathtub and a Fench balcony, the apartment had jacuzzi and two small balconies. View to inner courtyard from the suite, to street and inner courtyard from the apartment. Hermes bath amenities, Nespresso coffee capsules and a few bottles of Evian were on the house. There was fresh flower in the suite but not in the apartment.

What was good and what was bad?

Good:
- Very good sleeping comfort, as usual in Sofitel
- Complimentary bubble bath
- Location

Bad:
- Bad lighting option in the apartment (either too bright or dark)
- Restaurant closed during weekends
- Inflexible service at bar and room service
- Amateurish room service: requested corkscrew that was forgotten and wine was spilled on table when the bottle got finally opened
- Late check-out was granted but not honored: full cleaning was going on at 3pm when returning to the apartment
- Chocolates bought from a local chocolaterie were removed by housekeeping
- Police officers guarding the street used filthy guest restrooms in the lobby

Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
No lounge.

What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?
- Early check-in: not available
- Late check-out: 4pm without issues
- Welcome drink voucher: good for a glass of champagne, regular or rose
- Welcome gift: a bottle of Laurent-Perrier champagne and a fruit platter
- Newspaper: only one morning and it was an old one

Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Not so good value. Do I return, remains to be seen.
