I had a 3 night stay at the Plaza at the beginning of November, and quite enjoyed the hotel. I booked two connecting rooms for our family, and at the time of booking (more than 3 months out) we were upgraded from the base room to Plaza Exec rooms (usually a 2 or 3 level upgrade, I think). They also confirmed in advance that they'd extend my diamond benefits to both rooms. The rooms were very spacious and quite nice; most importantly for me, they were extremely quiet, with no internal noise and no street noise with the windows shut (I was actually astonished at how much noise the windows blocked when I opened them and got the full force of the traffic noise). Hotel staff were polite and efficient . check in took a bit of time since they only ever seemed to have one person working the desks, but most questions and requests were handled quickly and well. Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent, which is something I was a bit worried about since I've seen comments on flyertalk that the breakfasts at the other two Hilton properties are better. I found the Plaza breakfast to have a very wide selection and very high quality, especially the pastries. They also made pancakes/crepes to order for my kids, and served decent espresso and fresh squeezed orange juice. Exec lounge was comfortable though a little small. They had some cakes and fruit in the afternoon, and then a larger spread in the evening with leftover cake, several cold appetizers, and two hot dishes (one with meat and one veg). Not the best selection I've seen (notably it was lacking any cheese), but fine for a pre-dinner snack. Evening cocktails were four or five bottles of (cheap) spirits, as well as beer and Austrian red and white wine, and one sparkling wine. The location was decent- probably a 10 or 15 minute walk to the Hofberg, museum quarter, and many of the restaurants at which we ate. It was also 5-10 minutes from two ubahn stops. My only negative was that the hotel was overheated for my tastes- the hallways were like a sauna, and the a/c seemed to have been turned off. I've had this experience in Europe before (not sure if it is because I'm American or because I grew up in a cold climate), but the inside temperatures here seemed higher than I recall from stays elsewhere. Fortunately they hotel provided a couple of fans and the windows partially opened, so we could cool things down sufficiently to sleep. Overall I was very pleased with the hotel and will happily stay there again when in Vienna again.
