ajacpril, the food bank I take my food donations to only writes in the approximate weight of the food, not the cost. Since I had been taking lots of cereal to them in the Spring, I got extra blank forms and counted how many boxes and multiplied them by the weight listed on each box. I then attach my receipt from place of purchase to the food bank receipt and stick it in my tax file.
