I'll be trying a bit earlier than that, out of one of the small domestic airports ... the fare rules say we *should* be able to change "same-day... " it's not very useful on an early-morning flight, for instance, if it can't be done online or by phone ... will look to see if any of the other forums have an answer first ...

A bit of an UPDATE: the below (which I find on several websites but I can't find on AM) says it can be done online; but I kinda wonder, given past experiences with AM:
