Delayed or Cancelled?

I was scheduled on BA279 LHR>SJC on November 17 which was cancelled a couple of hours before departure. We were routed via JFK to SFO and arrived some 7 hours later than the original arrival time.

I am wondering if this is a cancelled flight since SFO was not our original destination or if that is considered close enough to be good enough to be considered delayed? I assume there is no difference in compensation but just curious.
