3. The key point you are missing though is that unless we are talking about a Polaris lounge or an International First Class lounge, ALL lounge food is basically not very good. It just doesn't compare to Classified or in fact to any top end restaurant in a big airport terminal.
There's just no contest between paying for food at EWR (especially at Classified, which has excellent food, is quiet, accepts RDM's and can be used as a sort of lounge) and going to a UC there.
I would agree the food and service and ambiance at Classified are the best at EWR. But its fairly pricey for that experience and the only option like that. Outside of Classified its very hit or miss and mostly misses. Had the dried out sushi at Tsukiji Fishroom. Mushy flavorless dumplings at Little Purse. The mediocre ramen at Kaedama. Those are all I can remember off hand but there are many more. All ordered impersonally via an ipad and delivered by a server that would never make it in a real restaurant. The only point I would concede is variety. Yes, there is a wide variety of overpriced, mediocre food delivered via indifferent untrained servers.
