Quite. I’m 1K and overwhelmingly get asked for what I’d like. However occasionally I’m asked for a second choice “just in case”. That’s when the J cabin is very GS/1K heavy.

I’ve never ended up with the second choice. But my first choice is the fish/seafood, then chicken or pasta. From what I’ve seen those that end up with their second choice usually chose the beef (short rib, or whatever) as the first. I’ve learned that beef (short rib, tenderloin, whatever) on flights usually isn’t very good, especially on UA.
