I'm pretty sure the point of these greetings isn't to announce to other passengers that you're a BSD who spends too much time on planes, it's so the cabin crew can try to tailor their service to your needs.

I've seen the manifest before that mentions GGL, Gold etc., but I'm sure it's pretty much ignored.
As I've said along with others, most greetings are just a few token words that will result in zero further contact, meal prioritisation, drinks from the bar etc.
