Yea, when I was with my friend, we met at the hotel and then checked out the MoMA. Had dinner at Spotted Pig, wandered The Village, and then had drinks at Elephant Bar/NoMad Bar (before heading to the subway, seeing the next one was 10 minutes out, and decided to grab a taxi).

When out with friends, usually end with at least a few being dropped on the L. So Union Square has the benefit of central location.

I've only done Beekman as my staycation/recovery from PRK surgery. My mom, who helped me through recovery, was impressed (event was going on at Javits, so Beekman was less expensive than midtown Hyatt Place). The blackout blinds/being in the district known for being darker passed the test (as well as having D.S. & Durga bathroom products). Haven't tried Augustine for dinner, but have been for brunch and was satisfied. Have only tried the drink late night (have been to a few events at the basement venue Alley Cat Shanghai Mermaid (no affiliation)). That is the end of the hijack from being a review thread.

If/When I stay here again, I do hope to give the bar a try, as well as checking out the pool.
