The Premium Economy ticket (JFK-CDG return trip) was roughly $2,000, paid by my company. Per the travel policy, I cannot spend more than $2,000 on a NYC-Paris transatlantic flight.

Therefore, spending 10,000 of my own miles to upgrade one leg to business is a good deal!
