This sticker practice has been going on for years! At least 12 years ago in the old Kowloon airport, I remembered seeing the white and yellow UA stickers. Each airlines has its own design and color. Airlines such as CX, KA and MU with many flights out of HKG, would have the flight numbers written on the stickers using black makers for easy identification inside the terminal.
