When I lived in Beijing, I kicked my flat-mate out for eating durian in our apartment. He was unimpressed, but thankfully the stench dissipated after 20mins with all the windows open.

Absolutely. I've seen it done with a planeload of snakes; it can certainly be done with something even more deadly.
