It’s not remotely a preferred airport for the north NJ catchment area (plus EWR isn’t insane for Manhattan/Staten Island the way PHL is) and you can see the difference between PHL and EWR by looking at AA and UA operations at both; AA and partners operate zero Asia flights out of PHL, UA and SQ do operate to Asia. If you can’t make EWR work, PHL won’t work either.
