Actually most of the US and Canada flights are not empty at all. ... My friends, who have been traveling to and from US, are all reporting that their flights are full (in economy).
But if we're relying on passenger load percentages in premium cabins, don't forget to factor in inflated loads due to the New Years 2019 error fare. Those tickets will all be gone soon, of course.
