Hello

I am booked on the MAD-DFW with american airlines in premium economy, my understanding is that as I have a 125- ticket I can use my BA avios to upgrade the flight should availability appear (none right now on BA.com). However I am confused about how much the upgrade costs in miles.

Speaking to a BA phone agent they advised that the cost is calculated as the upgrade costs on MAD-LHR and then the upgrade cost from premium economy to business on LHR-DFW, is this correct? even thought my actual flight is direct.

Secondly I have a stop in DFW before I continue on to Austin (approx 3 hours) can I used the flagship lounge in Dallas as a BA gold when connecting from this flight to a domestic AA flight in economy?
