Actually most of the US and Canada flights are not empty at all. CX has been relying on plenty of transit passengers for these routes. There are plenty of connecting passengers from South and Southeast Asia and Taiwan.
My friends, who have been traveling to and from US, are all reporting that their flights are full (in economy).

EWR flight are doing well? Why did CX cut the frequency then? Check the load for next few days to n fro. I class , E class and O class are still available for sales.
Same go for the JFK flights..
they are still selling I class E class n O class for the next few days.
