Why twice? There is no immigration check going airside at T5.
A week ago, Saturday, I had a double transit in LHR, one in the morning around 08:00, one in the afternoon around 17:30, international to international. Both were around 1.30 / 2 hours.
For the morning one I decided to use the fast track connection: it was busy and with a very slow pace for bag scanning, with a queue of 3/5 bags for secondary. If there are too many bags for secondary screening, the belt doesn't move because all the space is taken. If then for some reason your bag ends in the secondary line, you're in for a long wait as there is only one agent to check it. I think it took... meh, 15 minutes from leaving the bag on the tray to get it back on the other side. Plus the time spent in the line.
For the evening one I decided to use the landside "transfer" via First Wing. 15 min after leaving the aircraft i was already in the lounge. I think from now on I'll use the First Wing...
