For women who travel alone, it's better not to have the account and all reservations flagged as female (and staying alone in the hotel room). Too many people have access to hotel computer systems and there's always a chance that this can create a problem for one's personal security. The odds are small, but IMO it's not information that should be given if it's not necessary. I don't see a potential benefit unless someone wants to be assigned to a pink room. AFAIK the few hotels that have women only floors are not Starriott family.
