I recently booked a one way award ticket on Aeroplan BOG-YYZ-YVR-YYJ. Flights are PE except for YVR-YYJ leg. Booking class is N for PE legs, not X. Tried to upgrade using eups but (new) system says ineligible despite AC having a promotion to allow upgrades from reward tickets until Feb 2020. Called AC (on hold for over an hour even with 50k) who said They couldn’t do anything and I’d have to call Aeroplan. Called Aeroplan, who said they have no control over AC. What’s going on? Why are PE awards tix booking into N class (normally purchased Lowest PE, no?) and why can I upgrade from a normal eco ticket (X) but not a PE ticket? Normally the higher you move up the ladder in fares the easier it is. Any advice?
