TPE-BKK was wide open.
My impression after a lot of research is that CX opens availability for some weeks (not many) but not for most. And it does not change over time.
I was looking at flights with light loads (and tons of availability for married segments or AM) over a two-week periods and nothing ever opened up.
I guess it depends how far out you are booking. I have made 4 HKG-BKK-HKG award reservations this morning all very successfully. There were plenty of choices with at least one (Y/W/J) seat available on most (/all?) services on the dates in question (early next year). The multiple reservations are just to hold the reward availability so I can refine my schedule closer to the time.
Also quite a bit of availability on SIN and KUL (admittedly not as much as BKK). DPS is more challenging, especially in J since it is a longer flight.
