Just to follow up: the day that I was going to go to Waiheke, it was raining in the morning so I made alternate plans and didn’t go to the island. Little did I realize that when it rains in Auckland, it’s not like in my hometown. The rain was over by mid-morning. I’ll save the wineries for a return trip.
