I prefer having the lounge over the breakfast buffet (I'm in a minority on this one) because I like access to soda/water/snacks all day (they have cookies the size of your head).

The big question for me is what are you planning to do in Houston and what part of town will you be doing activities? Traffic is bad in the Galleria, but getting in and out of downtown traffic is more of a pain in my opinion. Depending on where you are going, you could conceivably fight downtown and Galleria traffic on the same trip.

The museum district/zoo is not difficult to get to from the Galleria, but it is an even easier quick train ride from downtown. NASA is far away from both. There are many, many more restaurant choices near the Galleria (and the big mall if you like that kind of thing).
Hmmm I like your take on it.

As far as activities being there for 5-6 days we will have plenty of time. I don’t know of too much to do in the Houston area, we will probably do the Children’s Museum, possibly the zoo. Then a day going up to Dallas for fun activities and food. Then a day going South to Galveston with the whole Pier and everything there. “The island” as some call it. But overall the Galleria seems like a good area I’m hoping it has some kids activities nearby, or in the Galleria. I know the Dallas Galleria has the ice skating and kids area but have never been to Houston. If you have suggestions on food or activities I’m all ears

We decided on the Galleria hopefully it’s the best choice. The rooms look nicer, and I’ve never actually been to a Club Lounge since most properties just do the restaurant option so that’ll be an experience, hopefully it’s a good choice, especially with the Giant cookies! What are typically the options throughout the day at the Club Lounge?

I do have a question though, would you recommend using a Suite Upgrade Award for a 5-6 night stay there as a Globalist (in late March) or do you think it’s better to wait and take our chances on getting the upgrade? We currently have 3 left to use through 2/2021 and I really don’t think we’ll be on more than 2 other long (5-7 day) trips in 2020.
