Now for speculation: looking at flights to destinations in Europe and other destinations on the west coast of North America, it would seem that the "primary" (using as evidence things like having first class, having daily flights, or for destinations with sufficiently low demand, being the only flight) flight rotation is the one that leaves HKG late (like, after midnight) and arrives back at HKG at daybreak the following day, so in this case, 880 and 881? (...Let me re-emphasize that this is just guessing on my part; I have no proper knowledge.)
Thanks for the info. It does appear that 880/881 appear to be the "primary" flights. That said, 882/883 have been around for a long time. I have 20+ family members booked on CX for my upcoming wedding, and given some uncertainty involving CX ops, I'm trying to be prepared to handle schedule changes.
