Comparing the two for a weeklong stay in early 2020 for a Globalist traveling with 2 Adults and 1 Child for a Points stay.

For our dates Cash Rate is $140 for HR Galleria and $240 for HR Downtown. That points strongly towards Downtown as more “bang for your buck”. But it’s likely just due to more corporate travelers at the time. They’re also both Cat 2 properties so no difference in points cost for us.

I’ve gone through the Master threads for each, but can’t get a sense of huge differences between the two.

Both give Glob’s free Valet parking on Award stays.

The HR Galleria has a Club Lounge for Breakfast while Downtown has Free Restaurant Breakfast, which I think is a plus for Downtown.

Downtown’s rooms however look a bit dated while the Galleria looks newer and nicer. Might even use a Suite Upgrade, or would it be a waste as we might get a Glob Suite Upgrade anyways?

What do you think about both? First time to Houston so being closer to attractions may be a plus too.
