I know this is the Mayakoba thread but for folks that have decided on the Andaz Mayakoba over the GH PdC, why did you make that choice? For those that have stayed at both, what would you say the main differentiating factors are? Going with a family of 5 in the spring and deciding b/w these 2 properties.
My husband, early 20's son and I just returned today from a few days (way too short) at the GH PdC. Earlier this year, just my husband and I stayed at Mayakoba. We enjoyed both very much. However, I felt that the GH is a better fit with family in tow. The main strip in PdC is just steps away from the hotel. At Mayakoba, once the sun goes down, especially in winter months, there isn't anywhere to take a stroll without a taxi ride. Plus, it seems like a more laid back and quiet couple scene.
