Just wrapped up a stay here a few days ago (thanks
BESVISOR )!
We expected the hardware to be poor coming in and that expectation was definitively met. The public areas were fine but the rooms should’ve been updated many years ago. However, the pools were beautiful and King’s Pond really was an experience. In fact, I think the pools at Hualalai are done better than Lanai as Hualalai offers more variety and the pools are sized more appropriately vs Lanai where the pools can feel crowded with more than half a dozen people in the water.
Service was good and requests were mostly fulfilled promptly and we had no major service issues. The valet and bellhops were fantastic.
F&B was disappointing. We had dinner at Ulu the first night and it was honestly one of the worst meals I’ve had on this two week trip. Breakfast buffet was also poor and felt like a 4* experience. They had some special F&B programming going on last week but we did not participate in any of them. We were in fact very annoyed as the event precluded us from having all on-site restaurants available to choose from in the evening.
