My only concern now is my card still has an expiry date of March 2002 (as before). I have since been sent a 'welcome to ECCCA' card (identical - nothing that says ECCCA) which also expires March 2002. I presume I will be sent a new card (hopefully Silver!)

I'll know by April (presumably) and will post results.

End of the day, I certainly haven't lost out, I can only gain.

Your situation is different though. You need to get to 700 to move to Silver.

My new card has indeed arrived. Instead of expiring at the end of this month I know expire at the end of March next year (although my points only run to December)

So as far as I can make it, I have defintely benfited by enrolling on the basis that I WAS going to expire but the inevitable is now a further 12 months away.

With any luck I'll be flying more again by then or EDI will allow UK Business passengers into the lounge which for me is probably the main benefit at the moment.

Finally, a colleague of mine was WAY below the 400 renewal mark, his points year had passed and his account was due to become blue from silver in 3 days. I suggested he enrol in ECCCA and low and behold he too has been extended a further year.

Apolgies:

Merry - I know we've done this subject to death but I did promise to update when I had more info.

Pucci - Sorry for suggesting more of us are 'about to expire'.

Everyone else - sorry for still being silver and eating all the sandwiches in the LHR Domestic Terraces lounge and encouraging expiring (I'm at it again!) colleagues to do likewise.
