Glad I'm not alone... I'm also at 2x for the "random document verification" (out of maybe 10x total) using CLEAR in CLE... It doesn't really slow things down in a meaningful way because, as you noted, you still wind up at the front of the line, but it's still annoying in a null-world problem sort of way.

The CLEAR folks always seem infinitely happier than their TSA counterparts and I've never had a read issue with my two fingers (even though when I enrolled they said my two thumbs were my best metric) -- I don't know that I'd pay for it (most of the time the time savings is moderate -- but every once in a while it really kicks butt), but I will certainly keep using it so long as it is free.
