Depends on if they have a pet cat or dog. It would probably be heating itself on the heated floor in a nice long line instead of tucked nose to tail or hogging the space in front of the heater.

I know radiators exist in Japan as I just searched my photos for a happy encounter with heated floors at a ryokan's overhead walkway in Nakashibetsu, Hokkaido. I guess they aren't a popular option?
