Which one of these flights is considered the "primary" LAX flight? If CX reduced the LAX frequency on a few days a week, which of the flights do you think would be cut? The reason I'm asking is that I have a group of 6 booked in F on CX 883, and if for some reason that flight got cancelled it would be impossible to re accommodate us onto CX 881 if F availability was less than 6.
881 uses the aircraft from 880, and 883 uses the aircraft from 882
Now for speculation: looking at flights to destinations in Europe and other destinations on the west coast of North America, it would seem that the "primary" (using as evidence things like having first class, having daily flights, or for destinations with sufficiently low demand, being the only flight) flight rotation is the one that leaves HKG late (like, after midnight) and arrives back at HKG at daybreak the following day, so in this case, 880 and 881? (...Let me re-emphasize that this is just guessing on my part; I have no proper knowledge.)
