This has nothing to do with what OP is asking. They're asking to book an Egyptair award ticket using AP miles. Obviously they're using the EF and UA award searches, not looking for revenue tickets.

I just searched for this route on an arbitrary date with UA, Lifemiles, EF, AP. All could see the space, so OP will have to be more specific on dates as I don't see any indication that there's a problem in general.
Also for the record OP, this is a really short flight and not very expensive so if AP is your only miles option why not just pay cash since it's not a good value at 40k miles anyway.
It's apart of a much larger AP redemption, so will book economy if I have to, but obviously would prefer J since it would be the same price, if possible.
