I recently flew Delta for the first time since this new boarding process was implemented (it's been a very light travel year for me). I don't have a problem with the changes overall. But I had a bad experience flying out of LAS over the weekend as someone
supposed to board in the Sky zone.
- The gate agent called passengers needing extra time, gave them plenty of time to board.
- Then they called military, and gave them plenty of time to board.
- Then they called premium, and gave them plenty of time to board.
- Then they called Comfort+, and gave them plenty of time to board.
- Then they called Sky Priority, and literally did not even pause for 1 second before immediately welcoming Main Cabin 1 to board. Every Main Cabin 1 passenger then stepped forward and my companion and myself got stuck all the way at the back of that zone.
I'm not sure what happened, maybe the gate agent just assumed that there were no Sky Priority passengers that weren't upgraded to Comfort+? Hopefully this is not the new normal...because if it is, what's the point of the Sky zone?
