As I said upthread, it's amazing how many group 1 boarders have no clue what a 1K is and board when pre-boarding for 1Ks is called. And the GAs do nothing to stop them usually. Time to go with the AA system of 15,000 boarding groups and giving everyone their own group I guess. (PS - I think AA uses 9 BGs).

I agree but as long as UA is printing boarding passes with "Group 1" on 1K, Platinum
and those folks buying first class seats without status, there is going to be confusion. I have had numerous experiences standing waiting to board and overhearing FC infrequent travelers confusion about pre-boarding. If they're going to create a 1K line, they need to call it group 1 and turn the existing group 1 into group 2 etc. I cant imagine the confusion if there is a 1K line, Group 1 line, etc.
