I received a letter today from M&M. The letter said everything is explained at

As far as I can see, they are making it much very tougher to achieve any status.

It now only lasts one year.
You have to earn at least half your points with M&M. So much for alliances allowing you flexibility in getting from A to B.

Any suggestions where a UK based traveller might move to? My travel is mainly to the Far East, Thailand and Singapore to date. I'm prepared to change alliance loyalty after many years. I don't mind transiting to get to a destination, but two changes is really my limit.
