I stayed there once when the hotel first opened and was underwhelmed...
In Toronto, my home is Hazelton as I bring my dog so there are secondary considerations.
Fairmont Pacific Rim was even better when FPC was still around (nostalgia !) as an amazing place to use certs... anyway, it is my recommendation for Vancouver and a good place to escape the inlaws (every Xmas for the last 8 years)... I like too that many staff have been there the whole time so it's a reunion every year.
I still (in the short time we have left before it being deflagged) enjoy the Four Seasons Vancouver which can often be had at a very decent price. It has a great pool and the rooms were redone quite nicely not to long ago. It hasn't gotten much love here but Ill be sad to see it go.
