Sure. Each to his own. But for £0.50, if you are Avios rich and time poor (as some of us are), it may well be a perfectly reasonable thing to do. I'd do this to get a friend who I hadn't seen in a while into the CCR for 6 hours (over meeting landside where I'm pretty sure I'd spend more than the value of the Avios on a just a couple of pots of tea, London pricing being what it is).
