Does DL have special handling for aluminum luggages? (Just like LH and CX do for Rimowas) Will the check-in staff accede to my request if I ask that a fragile sticker be put on it? (Some airlines are pretty strict about which specific items can have a fragile sticker on them). I am not worried at all about the bag getting any scratch/es.

It is my first time owning an aluminum luggage. I'm flying D1 SEA-NRT.

I've own polycarbonate luggages, including a very sturdy Tumi T-tech Cargo case. Once upon a time, it had a leather tag strapped to its handle, and AA/CX ruined it. Ever since, I've replaced it with cheap metal-cable luggage tags. These new tags are so durable it almost ripped off the handle on my Samsonite. LOL
I have checked a non aluminum Tumi carry on with DL with one of Tumi’s leather baggage tags strapped to a handle, and it was ripped off...

In other news luckily you don’t have a connection. And in NRT they’ll wipe the checked bags for you as they come out LOL. So no worries there - they also are good there at bag claims if any issues arise.

DL staff don’t care about using the fragile sticker. Some will then ask you to sign the waiver by requesting it...at which point I decline.

DL’s fragile sticker is impossible to remove later and doesn’t affect handling IME. DL’s ground crews don’t have a reputation for destroying bags...
