It is, and always has been, easier and cheaper to book domestic awards via BAEC (on AA) than via FB (on DL).
Easier yes, cheaper- not if your route requires connecting flights, where BAEC's 'per segment' pricing can drive up the pricing quite quickly. And a lot of USA secondary metro areas rely on the hub and spoke system heavily.
