Personally, I stay most often at 4* business hotels (Doubletree, Novotel, Crowne Plaza, Pullman, Sheraton, etc.) They usually got these basic slippers with rubber sole and polyester top.

Can anyone confirm these are disposables/not durable/not washable and can be taken on the basis that they are for the guest's "consumption"?
indirectly answered a few posts upthread ... you would be pretty hard pressed to use "well, a dozen anonymous FlyerTalkers said it was probably ok" as your defense if the hotel charged you for taking them
